Tuition for public universities and colleges is:
5,000 yuan/year for most majors,
10,000 yuan/year for art schools or art majors
For certain popular majors from which graduates are urgently needed on the labor market, tuition can be up to 30 percent higher than average, with a maximum of 6500 yuan/year.

Tuition for private universities and colleges can be up to 10,000 yuan per year.

Tuition for adult education college (part-time schooling for those already at work) is:
800 yuan to 1,600 yuan per year on average. 
1,500 to 2,400 yuan per year for art and certain popular majors.
Some adult schools offer full-time study, which requires permission from the municipal educational committee. These schools charge higher tuition.
Tuition for vocational schools can be up to 7500 yuan per year.
