The China Scholarship Council (CSC) grants scholarships to qualified students to support study abroad. CSC handles applications from Chinese scholars to study abroad on the China Scholarship programs, organizes assessments by experts, formulates relevant regulations and guidelines, provides guidance to the designated local offices working with the CSC and provides consultation services to help CSC-sponsored scholars make contact with foreign institutions. The CSC sponsors about 3000 Chinese citizens annually for study or research in more than 80 countries and regions.
