In one of the following cases, the vehicle administration shall cancel the Driver License of Motor Vehicles and make a note in the registration material:

(1) Death of the license holder;

(2) Varied physical conditions not suitable to drive motor vehicles;

(3) More than 1 year overdue to the time limit of license renewal;

(4) Alter or falsely claim the Driver License of Motor Vehicles;

(5) Refuse the disposition of regulation violation or accidents for more than 3 months overdue and without proper reasons;

(6) Holding 2 or more Driver Licenses with the same permission record;

(7) Aged more than 70;

(8) Application for cancellation by oneself or the guardian.

1. Fill the Application Form for Alteration in Driver License of Motor Vehicles of Shanghai;

2. The applicant shall produce the Driver License and Attachment of the Application Form for Driver License of Motor Vehicles of Shanghai.

According to the regulation, this procedure must be done by the license holder himself/herself. For those in compliance with the requirements of Driver License cancellation, the cancellation procedures of Driver License will be performed on spot, register after collecting all the materials of the former license older, issue a cancellation certificate, and the registration material will be destroyed after archiving for 2 years.
