When the license holder applies for location alteration, it shall be approved and confirmed by the transferred-in branches and sub-branches of traffic and patrol police; for other alterations, the license holder shall produce the reason and certificates for alteration, and proceed with the alteration formalities when in compliance with the regulations.

1. Go to the driver administration of executive branches and sub-branches of traffic and patrol police to get the Attachment to the Application Form of Driver License of Motor Vehicles of Shanghai.

2. Submit digital photos and fill the Application Form for Alteration in Driver License of Motor Vehicles.

3. For alteration in name, date of birth, ID number and address, the applicant must produce the ID and photocopies, residence registration corresponding to the alteration and residence registration booklet.

4. The inspection records of Driver License and the Attachment to the Application Form of Driver License of Motor Vehicles of Shanghai are valid.

5. For alteration in administrative districts, the driver administration of the transfer-in branches and sub-branches of traffic and patrol police stamps the inspection seal on the Attachment to the Application Form of Driver License of Motor Vehicles of Shanghai.

6. For the alteration from non-commercial to commercial, the applicant shall hold the permit for commercial taxi and photocopies of oneself. Digital photos are not required.

7. For alteration of A and B class Driver License into C class, the applicant shall apply by filling the Application Form for Alteration in Driver License of Motor Vehicles by himself/herself.

The alteration of Driver License alteration will be received by Dabaishu Vehicle Inspection Field of the Vehicle Management Agency. The location alteration of Driver License will first be approved and confirmed by the branches and sub-branches of traffic and patrol police, and go to the license issue counter of Dabaishu Vehicle Inspection Field of the Vehicle Management Agency for inspection, license making and issue; if the formalities are incomplete, a notice will be issued and ensure the formalities will be finished next time. After received according to the regulation, the content of alteration will be input into the computer archive and transferred to the archive section to ensure a timely issue of license.
