The application of overload transport by organizations will be decided within 3 working days to be approved or not.

The applicant organization shall survey the route and propose the transport time and route.

(I) Those with loading length of 15m or above; or width of 4m or above; or integrated goods with height requiring guidance by elevated vehicles, and vehicles from other province or municipality or military vehicles applying for overload permit shall be reviewed and approved by Headquarter of Traffic and Patrol Police of Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Apart from the above cases, it shall be reviewed and approved by the branches and sub-branches of traffic and patrol police of the branch bureau of public security of the executive district or county.

(II) The applicant organization shall bring: letter of introduction from the organization (specify the number plate of the vehicle), Vehicle Registration, bill of lading (or drawing), and the scheme of transport time and route.

The organ inspects the documents and materials provided by the applicant organization, and approve when confirmed complete and qualified.
