Can patients copy all the files included in their medical records?
(01/15/2003)

Patients only have the right to copy certain general records, such as records from the outpatient department, records from the inpatient department, doctors' advice, laboratory test reports and medical images.
Special items such as the doctors' discussion records of a patient's death, discussion records of difficult cases and the ward checking records of expert doctors cannot be copied for or by patients. These special records must be sealed and can only be consulted when both the patient and doctors are present.
