The family of a dead patient and the hospital where the patient died can both apply for an autopsy if the cause of the death is undetermined or in dispute.
The request for autopsy must be made within 48 hours of the death.
The Municipal Public Health Administrative Department will assign a unit of a local medical university to perform the autopsy.
If any party hinders or prevents an autopsy, that party will bear full responsibility.
