Here are the requirements:
1. The applicant must hold registered local permanent residence or
certificates proving that he has been temporarily in the city for over one
year. 2. Age --For a license to drive large passenger cars and trolley
buses, the age range is 21 to 45. --For a license to drive large freight
vehicles, the age range is 18 to 50. --For all other types of vehicles, the
age range is 18 to 60. 3. The applicant must pass related driving tests
Here is the application procedure:
1. Take your identity card or passport along with digital photos to one of
the three designated test locations of the Vehicle Management Department of the
Shanghai Public Security Bureau 2. Have a physical examination 3. Sign up
at a local drivers training school
A first-time applicant cannot apply for a license to drive large passenger
cars unless he is employed by a local public transit department.
You cannot apply for a driving license if: --your driving license was
revoked less than two years ago; --your driving license has been
suspended; --you already hold a driving license.
The Vehicle Management Department will grant a driver's learning certificate
to qualified applicants who have passed examinations on traffic laws and related
regulations. A driving license is granted to holders of this certificate who
have passed driving tests in a driving school. For the first year after the
license is granted the driver is categorized as a practice
driver. |
