What is the application procedure for a serviceman or ex-serviceman holding an army driving permit?

Here is the procedure for servicemen or ex-servicemen holding an army driving permit who want to apply for an ordinary motor vehicle driving license:
1. If you are a serviceman, go to the Drivers Management Department at the traffic police authority of the district or country that administers your driving information and obtain the Supplementary Form of Shanghai Motor Vehicle Driving License Application. If you are an ex-serviceman, go to the city's traffic police headquarters to obtain the form.
2. Submit digital photos and complete the Shanghai Motor Vehicle Driving License Application Form
3. If you are demobilized, have been transferred to civilian work or have retired from the army, you will need to present your identity card along with the related certifications.
4. If you are currently serving in the army, you should present your soldier's identity card along with the related certifications.
5. Present your army driving permit for validation.
6. You will need to pass driving capability tests or physical hospital tests.
7. If your driving history is less than three years or you need to maintain a B license or above, you will need to take the road driving tests. If you pass the tests a driving license will be granted.
If you have been driving for three years or longer and hold a C, D or E license, the tests are not required.
