What charges are involved in arbitration?
(01/15/2003)

Arbitration charges cover case acceptance and disposal fees. The case acceptance fee covers the expenses of the arbitration department in handing the dispute. The case disposable fee is the compensation that the loser of the case pays to the winner for the costs of the case, including retaining fee, appraisal fee, inspection fee, travel expenses and other costs. The case disposal charges are collected on the following basis:

(1) Five percent of the total amount involved in the dispute if it is less than 100,000 yuan (US$12,000), with a minimum of 20 yuan

(2) 500 yuan if the amount involved in the dispute is 100,000-500,000 yuan, plus four percent of the amount in excess of 100,000 yuan

(3) 2,100 yuan if the amount involved is more than 500,000 yuan, plus three percent of the amount in excess of 500,000 yuan, up to a maximum of 10,000 yuan

The amount involved in the dispute is based on the amount the applicants indicate in their arbitration application. If the amount indicated is different from the actual expenditure, the actual amount is the guideline. The arbitration committee must make a declaration to the price department before collecting charges.
