Foreigners with legal qualification

1. Valid passport and visa or residence permit;

2. Health certificate (foreigners with residence permit are exempted);

3. Two 2”bare-headed colored pictures taken recently;

4. Certificate on identification card and certification on working experience of foreigners in Shanghai issued by the unit of the applicant foreigner;

5. Certificate of honor or certificate of award (photocopies);

6. The following relevant documents are needed in accordance with the specific condition of applicants:

a. The one coming to invest in Shanghai shall submit the photocopy of the duplicate of business license of the invested enterprise;

b. The one coming under the category of scientific and technological personnel whom Shanghai is in urgent need or the one having made contribution to the city shall submit Recommendation on Qualifications of Foreigners for Long-term Residence issued by competent departments on municipal level, or the photocopy of certificate of award on the applicant foreigner issued by the municipal government.

Those having accompanying spouse and child(ren) shall provide certification on family relationship.

Note: visas and certificates of foreigners are collected from each applicant.
