Anyone who possibly has Chinese nationality or the one whose nationality is not clear and definite shall be through examination and approval procedures on nationality.

(I) Children

1. Passport of child and its photocopy;

2. Photocopies of the passports of the biological parents or the certifications on their identity;

3. Certifications on the biological parents residing overseas;

4. Birth certificate of the child (including medical certificate on birth).

(II) Adults

1. Valid passport of a foreign country;

2. Certification on the foreigner being naturalized (attached with its translation);

3. Chinese passport or its photocopy;

4. Certifications on how long the foreigner reside in the country of which he has the passport;

5. Written explanation from the applicant himself;

6. Photocopy of the original registered residence which has been cancelled.
