What Articles are restricted entry into and exit from China?

According to the Catalogue of Entry-Exit-Prohibited-Articles of the People's Republic of China, the following articles are prohibited entry into China:

1. Every kind of weapon, imitation weapon, ammunition and explosives.
2. Counterfeit currency and securities.
3. Any publicity, film, photograph, record, movie, tape, video tape, laser disc, computer storage media and/or other articles harmful to the politics, economy, culture and/or morals of China.
4. Every kind of deadly poison;
5. Opium, morphine, heroin, hemp and other narcotics, spiritual drugs that can be addicting;
6. Any animal or plant and its products that bear dangerous germs, pests, or other harmful creatures.
7. Any food, drug or other articles harmful to the health of humans and animals, or coming from plagued areas or capable of spreading disease.

The following articles are prohibited from leaving China:

1. All those articles contained in the entry-prohibited category.
2. Any manuscript, printed matter, film, photograph, record, film, tape, video tape, laser disc, computer storage media , and/or other articles that involve national secrets.
3. Precious cultural objects and other exit-prohibited cultural objects.
4. Animals and/or plants listed as endangered or falling into the precious category (including both the specimen and its seeds and propagating materials).

According to the Catalogue of Entry-Exit-Prohibited-Articles of the People's Republic of China, the following articles are restricted from entry into China:

1. Radio transceivers? communication crypto;
2. Cigarettes and alcoholic drinks;
3. Precious animals and plants or those listed as endangered (including both the specimens, and the seeds and/or other propagating materials).
4. National currency;
5. Other articles restricted from entry by the Customs Office.

The following articles are restricted from leaving China:

1. Precious metals such as gold and silver and their products;
2. National currency
3. Foreign currency and negotiable securities;
4. Radio transceivers? communication crypto;
5  Valuable Chinese herbal medicines;
6. General cultural objects;
7. Other articles restricted from leaving China by the Customs Office.
