The Ministry of Foreign Economy and Trade has formulated the Provisional
Rules for Holding a Foreign Economic & Technology Exhibition in China in
accordance with the Notice of Strengthening the Management for Holding Foreign
Economic & Technology Exhibitions in China issued by the State Council.
According to the provisional rules, the procedure for holding foreign economic
and technology exhibitions is as follows:
1. The applying unit must be a qualified enterprise authorized to hold
foreign economic & technology exhibitions in China by the Ministry of
Foreign Economy & Trade. 2. Foreign economic & technology exhibitions
held in China may include: (1) International fairs and
exhibitions. (2) Foreign economic & technology exhibitions
for civil use. 3. The sponsor unit is responsible for the formulation and
enactment of the plan for holding foreign economic & technology exhibitions,
the invitation of the participating enterprises and visiting enterprises and the
management of finance. It is also the sponsor unit which shall bear the civil
liability for holding the exhibition. 4. External participants (foreign
countries and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao) must join or entrust
the domestic qualified sponsoring unit to hold the foreign economic &
technology exhibition. The domestic sponsor unit is responsible for inviting
participating enterprises and visiting enterprises to China. 5. The sponsor's
exhibition-inviting documents, exhibition-inviting (exhibition participating)
contract, advertising and publicity shall be accurate and reliable. The name of
the exhibition shall be consistent with the approval paper. 6. Foreign
economic & technology exhibitions which involve the participation of
enterprises or institutions form Taiwan shall apply to the Ministry of Foreign
Economy & Trade for approval as a special affair, and file with the Taiwan
Affairs Office of the State Council for record. 7. Major requirements for
inspection and approval. (1) The applying unit must be the qualified
enterprise authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Economy & Trade to hold
foreign economic & technology exhibitions in China. (2) The name,
content, scale, time, address, organizing plan, the feasibility study report for
the exhibition and the contract between the sponsor unit and the undertaking
unit. (3) In case the unit belonging to the department of the State Council
and Trade Promotion Association holds exhibitions outside Beijing, it is
required to secure the consent from the local department for foreign economy and
trade. |
