The system of trademark registration and protection realizes the economic
interests of the proprietor of the registered mark through authorizing the
proprietor to use the mark as a symbol of the exclusive rights to its product or
service (so as to distinguish from the product and service provided by others)
or to grant others the license to compensated use. The period of validity of a
registered trademark shall be ten years but the proprietor can extend the period
of validity by applying for a renewal of registration. There is no frequency
limit to the renewals of registration. |
