Execution authority: Construction Examination Division, Key Project Division, Danger Management Division and Water Supervision Station of Fire Supervision Department of Shanghai Fire Bureau，and Fire Supervision Divisions (Sections) of district/county Public Security (Branch) Bureaus

Arrangement of project examinations

 (I) Projects to be examined by Construction Examination Division of Fire Supervision Department of Shanghai Fire Bureau
1. Overall urban planning and district planning in relation with fire safety;
2. Design of fire system of the construction project planned by municipal planning bureau and the key municipal construction projects;
3. High public buildings of first type (or the high public buildings over 100 meters in Pudong New District);
4. The resident building over 100 meters high or with the average construction area of every household more than 150 square meters;
5. The Type-one commercial-resident building with the store at bottom at least two floors high;
6. Type C, D and E industry projects with the total investment more than 300 million yuan;
7. Type A and B warehouse with the construction area of single buidling more than 1 thousand square meters; Type A and B workshop building with the construction area of single building more than 2 thousand square meters;
8. Gas or liquid storage vessel independently built and with the fire risk over Type C (excluding Type C);
9. New municipal construction projects of subway, tunnel, railway station, wharf and airport;
 (II) The projects to be treated as one of municipal key fire protection focuses other than above shall be examined by Key Project Division and Danger Management Division of Fire Supervision Department of Shanghai Fire Bureau; the gas station or petrol station for automobiles shall be examined by Danger Management Division of municipal Fire Bureau; the ships, wharfs and water-related operations shall be examined by Water Supervision Station of Fire Supervision Department of Shanghai Fire Bureau.
(III) Other projects shall be examined by the Fire Supervision Divisions (Sections) of district/county Public Security (Branch) Bureau and the authority for public security authorized by Shanghai Fire Bureau.
Application procedure: The applicant organization (construction organization) shall submit following documents:
1. Land map of the construction site;
2. General layout and floor plan of project;
3. Brief words description or production process;
Execution procedure: After examining the application documents, the authorities for public security and fire protection shall issue the "Comments on Design Examination of Fire System of Construction Project (Design Implementation Period)".

Time limit:  Since acceptance of application, the authorities for public security and fire protection shall issue the "Comments on Design Examination of Fire System of Construction Project (Design Implementation Period)" within 7 working days.
Applicant's qualification: For the project of building, expansion and rebuilding in Shanghai, the design of corresponding fire protection facilities shall be examined.
