On approval on Overseas international Marine Transport operators and overseas supporting enterprises of international Marine

Transport setting up their resident representative offices in Shanghai
Transaction department: accepted by Port Administrative Bureau of Shanghai on behalf of Ministry of Communications, and then submitted to Ministry of Communications for examination and approval after opinions from preliminary examination being proposed
Application formalities: 1. A written application (name of the representative office, area at which the office is to be set, term of residence and primary business scope, etc.)
2. Copies of business registration documents of the applicant enterprise (to be confirmed by registration organ or having notarization documents proving that the copies are consistent with the original script);
3. Introduction of the enterprise, including time when the enterprise is set up, its major business, performance at recent years, number of employees and its overseas offices, etc.;
4. Letter of attorney from chief representative signed by the chairman or general manager of the enterprise;
5. Name, nationality, personal record and identity documents of the chief representative.   
Transaction procedures: applicants are to submit relevant materials (two copies for each document) to Ministry of Communications via Port Administrative Bureau of Shanghai. After Shanghai Port Administrative Bureau receives complete application materials and has done verification work, they are to submit the application materials and opinion from the verification work to Ministry of Communications, who is to do examination and approval work after receiving application materials and opinions from the Port Administrative Bureau, and then decide to approve or not to approve the application. For those getting approval, Ministry of Communications is to issue "Letter of Ratification on Overseas Water Transport Enterprises Setting Resident Representative Offices in China"; for those not getting approval, the Ministry is to notify them in written form and inform them of reasons.
