Japanese language examinations are designed by Japanese institutions. The organization and registration for these examinations is defined by the Department of Overseas Examinations of the Ministry of Education, and in Shanghai is conducted through the Shanghai International Studies University, the East China Normal University and the Shanghai Maritime College.
