Which medical expenses shall be paid with the Local Supplemental Medical Insurance Fund?

The Local Supplemental Medical Insurance Fund ("Local Supplemental Fund" in brief hereafter) is made up of the Local Supplemental Medical Insurance payment by the participants¡¯workplace organizations. The Local Supplemental Fund is used to pay the medical expenses in compliance with the Basic Medical Insurance rules and regulations:

(1) In a Medical Insurance Year, the Local Supplemental Fund is used to pay the medical expenses on a participant¡¯s hospitalization, emergency treatment, clinical severe illness treatment or at-home medical care that is beyond the cost ceiling of the Municipal Medical Insurance Fund;

(2) in a Medical Insurance Year, the Local Supplemental Fund is used to pay the medical expenses on a participant¡¯s clinical or emergency treatment (except for the clinical severe illness treatment paid with the Municipal Medical Insurance Fund) after the Individual Medical Account is used up and the private expenses reach the defined standard.
