How are subsidies of medical expenses paid to applicants?
(02/21/2008)

The applicant should go to a Medical Assistance Service Point and take the original review of the receipts and related documents of high medical expenses at their own private cost, and the district/county Medical Insurance Center shall make a secondary review as required.

If the review shows the applicant is eligible to receive aid, the subsidy will be deposited into the special bankbook of the applicant.

If the application is rejected, the Medical Assistance Service Point shall inform the applicant of the rejection reason, and return the receipt(s) and related documents of medical expenses to the applicant.

When an insurance participant applies for the subsidy for high medical expenses paid at his/her own private cost, the district/county Medical Insurance Center will produce the special bankbook for him/her and deposit the subsidy into it. The applicant must sign to accept their bankbook at the Medical Assistance Service Point.

In subsequent cases of applying for subsidies for high medical expenses at one¡¯s own private cost, if approved by the secondary review, the aid will be directly deposited into the participant¡¯s special bankbook by the district/county Medical Insurance Center.
