What is the subsidy standard for clinical medical expenses, and how does a participant use their subsidy?
(02/21/2008)

The subsidy standard for clinical medical expenses is RMB 150.00 per year for all eligible participants in 2004. After the participant pays their individual charges, the Medical Assistance Service Point will issue a Medical Insurance Card on which their subsidy is recorded.

The participant shall choose a community health service center (Grade-1 medical institution) located where his permanent residence is registered as the dedicated clinical hospital, and he/she can use the Medical Insurance Card to pay the subsidy for clinical expenses when he/she sees a doctor in this hospital until the subsidy is fully used up. If the subsidy is not used up in the present year, the remaining amount can be added to the account of the following year.
