1. It is prohibited to assign mine or underground work, the work defined as
Level-IV physical labor intensity by the national regulations, and other
prohibited work types to female employees.
2. It is prohibited to assign overhead, low-temperature or cold-water work
and the work defined as Level-III physical labor intensity by the national
regulations to female employees during their menstrual period.
3. It is prohibited to assign to pregnant female employees work that is
defined as Level-III physical labor intensity by the national regulations and
any work that is unsuitable for pregnant women. For female employees who are
over 7 months pregnant, it is prohibited to assign overtime work and night
shifts to such employees.
4. It is prohibited to assign the work defined as Level-III physical labor
intensity by national regulations and the work unsuitable for nursing women, as
well as overtime work and night shifts to female employees who are nursing an
infant younger than 1 year of age.
5. Female employees whose childbirth conforms to the national policy can have
maternity leave for 90 days with a single and normal childbirth, or 105 days
with a single but difficult childbirth. For female employees whose childbirth
conforms to the late childbirth policy, they can have maternity leave for 15
days longer. For female employees who give multiple births at one time, they can
have their maternity leave extended by 15 days per each extra child. Female
employees, who experience a miscarriage with a pregnancy period of less than 3
months, can have maternity leave for 30 days. Female employees, who experience a
miscarriage with a pregnancy period of more than 3 months, but less than 7
months, can have maternity leave for 45 days.
