Log onto http://www.jt.sh.cn or http://jtj.sh.gov.cn and then enter the traffic map smart inquiry system.

Please note: this system is only offered in Chinese at present. Based on an intelligent expert system, vector electronic map technology is used in the map, which provides comprehensive, convenient and practical services for making inquiries on making changes or transfers on public transport routes. Several inquiry methods are available in the system; the specific operation methods are as follows:

I. To make an inquiry according to the unit name:

Method 1: Click "Category" in the category of "Unit", and then click "Next".

Method 2: Enter the complete or a part of the unit name, and then click "Next".

Method 3: Choose "Category", and then click on a specific district name.

For instance, click on "Huangpu District", followed by "Next", then click on the unit name, and a red spot will flash on the map, which is the unit you are looking for. You can also double click on the map to change places. Click on "Next" and you can return to the menu.

II. To make an inquiry according to the road name:

Enter the road name first, and then enter the building number on the road; click "Submit", and there will be a red spot flashing on the map, which is the place you are looking for. If you drag on the map by pressing on the left mouse key, there will be relevant information on the place. If there is only a cross indicated, it indicates you did not enter enough information for the inquiry, and there will be a sign saying "Sorry, please locate the place manually". Click "Next" and return to the menu.

III. To make an inquiry according to the map:

To click on the map, you can drag on the map by pressing on the mouse; double click and you can locate the place. (If you drag on the map by pressing on the left mouse key, there will be relevant information about the place). If there is a flashing red spot, you can click "Next" to return to the menu.

IV. To make an inquiry according to common names:

After choosing a common name, the corresponding area will be shown on the map (If you drag on the map by pressing on the left mouse key, there will be relevant information on the place). You can also drag the mouse on the map and make a double click to change your starting point. Then go back to the menu.
