Where can taxis stop for passengers to board on or off taxis?

According to the Methods for Implementing the Road Traffic Administration of Shanghai, the following regulations must be obeyed if taxis are to stop for passengers to board on or off:

1. Except for service stations and sites designated or authorized by public security departments, taxis must not stop on the road for passengers to board on or off.

2. Except for sections with pedestrian rails and pedestrian crossings, and sections within 20 meters from bridges, crossings, steep hills, track curves, railway crossings or tunnels, taxis can stop for passengers to board on or off.

3. On roads with pedestrian rails or guardrails for vehicles, taxis can stop outside the entrance of the rails, but it should be done without blocking the traffic.

4. Taxis can stop for passengers to board on or off at bus stops, on the premise of not being in the way of buses trying to get into or out of the stops.

5. If passengers board on or off at lanes for the special use of non-motor vehicles, taxis can stop at the nearest place in the special lane, without obstructing the traffic.

6. After the taxi stops, passengers should get on or off immediately; then, taxis should leave the site without any delay, and not stopping there and waiting for other passengers.
