What are the taxi fare standards in Shanghai?

The minimum price of taxi in Shanghai is 11.00 RMB (within 3km). It is 2.00 RMB per kilometer after 3km, and 3.00 RMB per kilometer after 10km. The minimum price at night is 14.00 RMB within 3km; it is 2.60 [1E1] RMB per kilometer after 3km, and 3.90 [1E2] RMB per kilometer after 10km. If there is a traffic jam and the speed is less than 12km, it will be rated as one kilometer for every 5 minutes.

Taxis will not be charged a fee to go over bridges and through tunnels between Pudong and Puxi. Taxis are to be charged a fee on the three expressways, namely, the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, the Shanghai-Hangzhou expressway and the Shanghai-Jiangding Expressway.

Taxis are to be charged a fee at the following sites: 15.00 RMB for taxis going one way from Hongqiao International Airport, via YanĄŻan Elevated Road, to the downtown area; 12.00 RMB for taxis going one way from the downtown area to the four bridges on Yunzaobang Creek in Baoshan District. Taxi passengers are to pay the fee.

The standard fares for each taxi are posted on a pricing label on both sides of the taxi, and passengers pay the driver according to the sum shown on the fare meter in the taxis. Passengers are entitled to a refusal of payment if the driver does not collect the fare according to the fare meter, or does not issue a qualified invoice.
