What is a "registered trademark"?

According to the applied provisions in the Trademark Law of the People¡¯s Republic of China, a "registered trademark", including the "goods mark", the "service mark", the "collective mark" and the "certification mark", refers to a trademark that has been approved and registered by the Trademark Office.

1. A goods mark refers to a trademark exclusively used for goods.

2. A service mark refers to a trademark exclusively used for services.

3. A collective mark refers to a trademark registered in the name of a group, an association or any other organization and used by its members in their commercial activities to indicate their membership.

4. A certification mark refers to a trademark controlled by an organization capable of supervising a particular type of goods or service that is used in respect of goods or services by other organizations or individuals who do not belong to the said organization, with a view to certify the origin, raw material, mode of manufacture, quality or other specific characteristics.
