Ⅰ. Qualifications:

Where changes take place in origin of residence, passport number and co-existent of the holder of the residence permit, the holder should apply to the residence permit issuing authority for a new residence permit within 10 days; where changes take place in domicile, attended university, college or school, and working unit of the holder of the residence permit, the holder should apply to the residence permit issuing authority for the change within 10 days; where the holder transfers from one city to another, the exit-entry administration department at the place of emigration or at the place of immigration can handle the matter.

Ⅱ. Formalities:

1. Handing over the originals of the valid passport and residence permit for examination;

2. Submitting the official letter of application of the unit;

3. Submitting the Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form completely filled up and one recent 2-inch half-length, bareheaded and full-faced photograph;

4. Submitting the relevant certificates:

a. The original of the certificate of check-in in Shanghai (issued by the hotel or the police substation of the area where the lodging takes place) for changing domicile;

b. The original of the former passport for changing passport number;

c. Submitting the original and the copy of the certificate of Approval of enterprise,the Duplicate of Business License or the Representative Agency Registration Certificate,the copy of the organization code of the new unit and the original of the Employment Credential, Expert Certificate or Press Card for changing unit;

d. The originals of the Form JW201 or JW202 and the Matriculation Notice for changing attended school;

e. The official letter of application of the original unit and the new one for emigrating from and immigrating into this city.
