Shanghai Mayor and Acting Party Chief Han Zheng urged the government to
explore ways to better manage Party membership administration during an
inspection tour of the Party's grassroots units yesterday.
The government should use new methods to improve the management of Party
membership as well as the services to Party members at the grassroots level, Han
said. He also defined three priorities for organizing grassroots Party
membership: create a favorable working environment; develop an efficient
mechanism; and recruit an energetic unit of workers.
The measures also include building service centers for grassroots Party
members, establishing Party units in office buildings and recruiting
professionals to work for the units.
On his tour, he inspected conference and leisure facilities for Party members
working near the Lujiazui area and Jing'an Temple. Deputy Party Secretary Wang
Anshun also attended the inspection.
Shanghai has made great efforts to improve the management of grassroots Party
memberships these years, Han said.
