Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng extended congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly ties between Shanghai and Rosario during a meeting with a delegation led by the Argentinian city’s mayor Miguel Lifschitz last Friday.

Han said the two cities have witnessed closer and productive cooperation over the past 10 years despite the geographical distance between them, and he believes the delegation's visit would certainly facilitate cooperation in such areas as economy, trade and science and technology.

Han told his guests that the city is preparing for the 2010 Expo and welcomes foreign experts to make suggestions on the theme of the Expo -- Better City, Better Life.

So far, more than 170 countries and international organization had confirmed their participation in the Expo, Han noted.

Lifschitz said Rosario will participate in the Expo and he expressed hope that the two parties will strengthen cooperation and exchanges in fields like education and trade.
