Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday met a delegation led by Emanuel Mori,
President of the Federated States of Micronesia, at Xing Guo Hotel, welcoming
their arrival on behalf of the city government.
Han told his guests that preparations for the 2010 World Expo are running
very smoothly.
He promised the city would live up to its commitment to host a successful,
fantastic and unforgettable World Expo.
Shanghai is the financial hub of China and was among the first batch of
cities to adopt the reform and opening-up policy, Han said, adding that what the
guests have seen in Shanghai and other cities display the benefits of this
policy.
In response, Mori said the Federated States of Micronesia would take an
active part in Expo 2010 and expressed hope that the two sides would further
strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade and aquatic products.
