Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday visited migrant workers at a construction
site on Jiangsu Road. Han shook hands with the workers and thanked them for
working in the hot weather.
He asked the site manager to carry out measures to lower the temperature and
prevent heatstroke.
On Monday, Han and vice Mayor Zhou Taitong went to Shanghai Stadium to visit
university students preparing for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics
on October 2. He highly praised the rehearsals and said the ceremony would
present a brilliant Shanghai and China to the world. Han reminded them to take
care of themselves in the heat.
Other city leaders such as vice mayors Tang Dengjie, Hu Yanzhao and Yang
Dinghua also visited service industry workers and told them to take care of
themselves so they could better serve the public.
