Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng yesterday attended the discussion of deputies of the
Shanghai People's Congress from Hong Kong and Macau, encouraging them to present
more proposals with regard to the city's further development.
Issues discussed included preparations for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, how
to build the city into a world financial center and cooperation between the city
and Hong Kong.
He called on Hong Kong and Macau deputies to push forward exchanges between
Shanghai and the two regions in various fields and said the city would learn
from their successful experiences in attracting talents and developing a strong
cultural industry.
