Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. With the cooperation and hardwork of Shanghai people, the city is progressing to its goal as a global metropolitan. The new team of leaders of the Shanghai government took office in February 2003. "The power of the government is entrusted by the people; the interest of people is above all," as Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng promise in his inaugural. Guided by the Shanghai Party Committee, the city's new leadership vows to strictly perform its official duties; to make significant progress in self-improvement, and to intensify the shift of its role from administrative to public service. The Shanghai government will build itself into a service government that would share with the people all their happiness and troubles; a solid responsible government that is efficient, honest and diligent; a law-abiding government that respects legal system and rules strictly and impartially.


26 "Small Bosses" Become Startup Coaches in Official Bases for Internship and Practice of Shanghai 2nd Industry University

Holding the shining copper plate of "Bases for Startup Internship and Practice", Wu Yumin, the "small boss" of an exhibition company smiled. Yesterday, the bases for internship and practice of Shanghai 2nd Industry University were officially founded, and 26 successful "small bosses" became the startup coaches.
The 26 "small bosses" were running the businesses of purified water, housework and food. Ding Xinmin, Deputy Dean of Adult and Continuing Education College of Shanghai 2nd Industry University said, "By founding the startup internship and practice bases, the startup candidates can undergo internship and practice in the successful startups, so that a 'small boss' will help to produce a group of 'small bosses'." He introduced that a lot of laid-offs and "4050" participants had started up their own businesses after Shanghai 2nd Industry University began to give the startup training course. At the end of this June, in order to provide internship opportunities to the startup candidates, Shanghai 2nd Industry University launched the 1st project of bases for startup internship and practice in all the universities located in Shanghai, and received the applications from 38 "small bosses". With strict examination, finally 26 locations were determined as the bases for startup internship and practice.
"Led by the success cases provides a shortcut than trying everything by myself", said by Gu Jiawei, a confident participant that would undergo internship in a base. He expressed what he thought, "I studied the theories in the startup training courses, and will learn the practical experiences in the base. I'm confident in my success if I can integrate what I learn". The "small bosses", once working as the coaches, committed that they would guide carefully the participants on how to start up business. Ding Zhijun, boss of Metropolitan Spring purified water stations said, "This provides a way for us to pay back the countless helps that the government and the society made to us."
