About 50K Employees Work in Shanghai Agencies, and 5 Critical Agency Sectors to Be Formalized in This Year

Shanghai administration will intensify the supervision and formalization of 5 critical agency sectors including the account office, the overseas education agency, the HR agency and the job recommendation, and is expected to achieve remarkable performance in this year. The news came from Shanghai Meeting of Supervising and Formalizing the Agency Service Market and Develop the Construction of Social Credit that was held on Aug 11th.
Up to now, there're about 70K agency service companies running in Shanghai, which cover about 50 industries in the sectors of visa, broker, agency and consultancy, and about 500K employees are working in these companies.
Experts pointed out that Shanghai was well prepared for developing the agency services in short period, and the critical point was to keep off the wrong way. Shanghai administration should find the supervision style in line with the market economy by changing the ideas, and change the behavior from focusing on permission to focusing on supervision, change the supervision style of "shock action, attack, and punch" to the establishment of long-term management system, and change from the simple administrative supervision to the guidance of self-discipline to the enterprises.
Vice Major Zhou Taitong stressed in the meeting that the administrations should supervise and formalize the agency service market, and particularly focus on the self-discipline of agency institutions, so as to make clear the accountabilities. In this sense, the related administrations could work together on key points of supervision and management tasks, and drive the business normalization of agency service institutions in order to make them run lawfully with credit and good service.
