Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Road Traffic Fee May Be reduced. Shanghai Urban Traffic Bureau Adjusted the Measure and Charging of the Fee

According to the initial plan of adjusting road traffic fees published by the Ministry of Transportation, the road traffic fee in China may be cut.

According to vice minister Feng Zhenling of the Ministry of Transportation, a group of researchers have been designated to carry out research on reducing the standards of road traffic fee and an initial plan has been worked out. After further consultation with relevant departments and ministries, the final plan will be published soon.

Feng Zhenglin said that in some provinces, the fee has already been cut. For example, the fee in Chong Qing Municipality has been cut by 26.7%. the fee for coal trucks in Si Chuan Province has been cut by 66% and the truck that deliver fresh agriculture products in An Hui Province are not subject to any charges starting from June
