Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Traffic Improved on Viaducts in Shanghai and the Number of Accidents Reduced

Recently, a serious of measures, such as installing reflecting nail and expanding the lanes, have been taken on viaducts in Shanghai and the traffic order on certain road sections has been greatly improved. According t the statistics of Shanghai Municipal Traffic and Patrol Police Squadron, there was a total of 1,149 accidents on viaducts this May and a total number of 1,107 vehicles broke on the viaduct, an decline of 13.9% and 2.6% respectively.

The Shanghai government 2006
