Parking Guiding Board System in Shanghai Will Be Upgraded. In the Future, Parking Space Can Be Booked Via Telephone

It is reported from Shanghai Urban Transportation Bureau on June 7th that "Parking Guiding System" Shanghai standards has been formally implemented. The existing "Parking Guiding Systems" in Shanghai will all be upgraded.

It is reported that parking guiding system will be built throughout Shanghai, and in the end, a platform for the collection and processing of parking lot information will be established so that local citizens can check or book parking space in advance through telephone or on Internet.

The new "Parking Guiding System" will have obvious difference with traffic symbols. It is written in black on a gray background, with blue surrounding framework. The number indicate the vacant parking lot number and the parking symbol and road smbol will be written in white against the blue background. There are two kinds of guiding boards, the big one and the medium one. The big one looks like a map, indicating the location and vacant number of parking lots nearby. The middle board indicates the exact number of vacant parking lots in a certain parking area. Generally speaking, if the screen is in red, it means there are too many vacancies. If it is in yellow, it means there aren't too many vacancies and if it's in green, it means there are many vacancies.

The first phase of parking guiding system has already been in operation in the CBD area in Huang Pu District. On Xi Zang road, the journalist saw a parking guiding board indicating clearly the location of parking lots in the Grand Theatre, Urban Exhibition Center, Music Hall and People's Square. Drivers can choose a nearby parking lot conveniently. It is estimated that the efficiency of parking lots on the guiding system is increased by 15% on averge. In some parking lots, the efficiency increased by several folds, and the profit is definitely increased greatly.
