Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Work To Encourage the Establishment of First Group of Clean Production Demonstration Enterprises Started

To fully implement the new round three-year action plan of environmental protect, the work to encourage the establishment of first group of clean production demonstration enterprises has started. It is reported that the General Office of Shanghai Municipal Clean Production Joint Conference is now working on the training and production program of clean production. It is reported from Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau on July 7th that work on the selection of second group of demonstration enterprises will also start.

The work to encourage the establishment of first group of clean production demonstration enterprises has been carried out smoothly. Database of experts and inspection experts is being established. The initiative of enterprises, groups, and industrial associations will be tapped. Training workshops of clean production will be organized. Inspection network will be organized for enterprises.
