Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Campaign Against Illegal Collection of Blood and Blood Plasma Was Launched

The comprehensive campaign against illegal collection of blood and blood plasma was launched in Shanghai. It is reported on July 5th that starting from tomorrow, leading panel of the campaign will check 10 blood collection institutions and 110 clinic institutions that use blood. At the same time, complaining telephone: 52570146 were established. Those who report about illegal cases will be awarded. The whole society was encouraged to supervise blood collection in the city.

Shanghai Public Health Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Public Security, Shanghai Municipal Supervisory Commission and Shanghai Food and Pharmaceutical Supervision Administration Bureau will act in accordance with the spirit of State Council circular and the instruction of relevant ministries. Recently,¡°Measures of Shanghai Municipality for the Implementation of Campaign Against Illegal Collection of Blood and Blood Plasma¡±was published, in order to effectively control AIDS and other diseases that transmit through blood donation and to protect the health and safety of local citizens.

Priority of the campaign include, strike illegal organizations or individuals who illegally collect blood and blood plasma. Deal with blood product enterprises that buy illegal blood plasma. Deal with enterprises that manufacture and sell one-time medical equipments illegally. Strengthen our efforts in the procurement use; recycle and treatment of one-time medical equipments cut the tool for illegal collection of blood. Deal with those who have others donate blood in their names.
