Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Manmade Marshland Covering More Than 20,000 Square Meters Will Appear in Da Ning Area

It is reported from relevant water affairs departments that a manmade marshland covering more than 20,000 square meters, which serves both as garden and sightseeing spot, will soon appear in Da Ning Green Area of Zha Bei District. The design of the marshland is now being examined by relevant experts. If everything goes on well, construction can start this August and the marshland will be completed by the end of this year.

Since Pengyupu River near Da Ning Green Area is polluted, the water system of Da Ning Green Area hasn’t been improved at all. Water affairs department in Shanghai decided to try the marshland eco project in Da Ning Green Area. After its completion, the eco environment along the river will be improved because of grass on riverbanks, water will become clearer and the riverbanks will become more beautiful. The design of the manmade marshland will also make it possible for visitors to go inside.
