Ever since China opened up to the world in 1980's, the Shanghai Municipal Government, led by the Communist Party of China and the State Council, makes great effort to build the city into an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. Aim At Non-Adults: Dragon TV Children¡¯s TV Launched in July

This summer, more than one million youngsters in Shanghai will have their own TV channel----Dragon TV Children¡¯s Channel. It is reported on the press conference on June 21st that the children¡¯s channel will start at the end of July. It will be the twelfth professional channel of Shanghai Culture, Radio Broadcasting, Press and Media Group.

It is reported that this children¡¯s channel was established in accordance with the spirit of¡°Circular of Setting Up Channels for Children¡±of National Broadcasting and TV Bureau and with the help and support of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Propaganda Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and other social sectors. It aims at help youngsters to establish a correct attitude towards the world and their life and creating a favorable media environment. It can also provide more potential opportunity for TV programs for children.

¡°Creativeness, consultancy and interactive activity¡±will be the features of the channel, which aims at youngsters under the age of 18. Broadcast starts from 7:00 to 23:00 for around 16 hours.
