Employers of housekeepers can now buy one-year housekeeping service comprehensive insurance at RMB 30 each year. When the housekeepers they hire have accidents during service, employers of housekeepers can thus apply for compensation directly from the insurance company. With the active promotion and encourage of the government, this housekeeping comprehensive insurance policy was launched by China Ping'an Property Insurance Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Taipingyang Property Insurance Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch on July 1.

Spokeswoman Jiao Yang said on June 23 that first, it was a commercial insurance promoted by the government. It is non-compulsory and it's different from other compulsory social insurances. Second, the insurance is bought by employers and enjoyed by employees of housekeeping. Third, the insurance premium is low while the compensation is high. By paying RMB 30 each year, employees will be able to enjoy compensation as high as RMB 100,000.

It was introduced that to make the purchase of this insurance more convenient, the two insurance companies established 542 selling points all over Shanghai. Since this insurance aims at public interest, the government worked hard to create a service platform to the employer.
