"There is a student who need to head for his college entrance examination. He couldn't find any taxi at the crossroad of Pu San Road and Pu Dong Road South. Please send a taxi immediately." According to the description of staff on duty at "110", the student couldn't find any taxi. The coordination center immediately sent a vacant taxi and within ten minutes, the student arrived at the examination place.

June 7 is the first day of college entrance examination. There were more than ten thousand students who went to schools by taxi. That means, among ten students, there will be one who went by taxi. This was a record. Major taxi companies in Shanghai thus experienced a tough test.

From 6:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Qiang Sheng Taxi Company had sent nearly 5000 times of taxies. The fastest coordinator usually can send one taxi within 3.7 seconds. During the same time period, Da Zhong sent over 5000 times of taxies, Jin Jiang 2000, Ba Shi Company 1000. according to a leading official of Qiang Sheng Coordination Center, on the morning of June 7, there were four students who called for help through 110.

Traffic jam became a big headache. Taxi coordinating system went to help.

At around eight o'clock in the morning, Da Zhong Coordination Center received a phone call from a student living in Pu Dong Avenue. There was only one hour before the examination began but the taxi that he booked hadn't arrived yet. The student and his parents were very much worried. The coordinator immediately checked the GPRS system and saw that the taxi they dispatched was stuck in traffic jam on Pu Dong Avenue. To ensure that the student could arrive on time, the coordinator dispatched another three vacant taxis. After ten minutes, the first taxi arrived and the student managed to arrive at the school on Yu Lan Road just on time.

To ensure the requirement of students who enter for examines, Jin Jiang Taxi Company drafted a rule. Any taxi who will deliver students early in the morning shouldn't have any other clients. The first business should be reserved for students. For this purposes, many drivers wait in front of students' homes as early as six thirty in the morning. On June 7, company vehicles reserved for party secretaries and general managers of Da Zhong Taxi Company all became on-call cars. The yellow maintenance cars were also waiting in 15 spots all over the city. In case the taxi broke down, the maintenance car will arrive immediately to deliver the students.
