At present, the Municipal Civil Administration Bureau has sent a thick book of List of Governmental Information to be Made Public to the inspectors of the system behaviors and practice and to hear advice from all walks of life. The content, which is made public on the department's own initiative, has covered information of 450-plus pieces and of 5 categories and is called "the facilitating-people loose-leaf". Since the 1st of May, if only the citizens enter the website of Shanghai Municipal Civil Administration Bureau, they can inquire about all contents of List of Government Information to be Publicized. They can not only get to know the information of the social financial difficulty allowance of villages and towns, medical aid, preferential treatment and compensation, standard of pension for two groups of retired people in a family and guide on handling affairs, but also know the information of different kinds of services such as community, marriage, funeral and interment, and where those disaster relief and donations go to, the social welfare institutions of districts and counties in Shanghai and the situation of aid and administration institutions helping the tramps and beggars in the urban area.
Municipal Civil Administration Bureau has opened all kinds of information channels. The citizens can consult the information which is made public on the department's own initiative on the Internet or in the Civil Affairs Public Consulting Room. Citizens can also officially request some information to be made public. Municipal Civil Administration Bureau prescribes that the information relevant to administrative examination and approval and social service should be made public on the website of Municipal Civil Administration Bureau within 24 hours after the change of working procedures. The stipulated document should be made public on the internet within 30 days since the day of its release.

The Municipal Foreign Economy and Trade Committee and the Municipal Foreign Investment Committee made the governmental information public on their own initiative on the 29th, April.
