New regulations are worked out to upgrade dwelling house quality of Shanghai

"Instructions and Regulations on Applied Technology of Using Subseal Multi-row holes concrete Bricks in Filling Walls" was issued recently by Shanghai Construction Committee, which will be put into practice from October, 1st. This is another new applied technology regulation implemented to upgrade dwelling house quality of Shanghai.
Previously, it was single-row holes concrete bricks that were employed in filling walls of dwelling house construction. Because there are such drawbacks with the technique as a small contact area of mortar, low shear resistance, being difficult for pipe laying and holing digging as well as for repetitive fitment, and still its poor function for sound-proof and heat reservation, etc., Shanghai Construction Committee organized an expert panel on designing, construction, quality supervision and on materials since the end of last year to work out the "Regulations" after much work had been done in research and experiments. In the "Regulations", eight requirements on technology are listed out for materials and ten measures are produced for material designing and structure, which play an important role to prevent thermal crack on top of the building, or shrinkage crack at the joint interface of applied columns and prevent cracks at the window corners on top floor or on the first floor of the building.
The "Regulations" acts as an implement to current standard, regulations and collective drawings for concrete bricks of Shanghai. In the "Regulations", enterprises are allowed to research and develop products which are more reasonable and with more scientific content. Only if the products are in compliance with technique requirements and have gone through corresponding procedures, can they be put into practice.
