Construction for dwelling house woods is launched in Shanghai


Construction for dwelling house woods covering an area of 20 hectares was launched in Baoshan District on January 20th, 2003, thus beginning the movement of "millions of people being involved with a common effort in the construction of dwelling house woods at outer ring greenbelts" in Shanghai. It is learnt that the dwelling house woods, constructed by Administration on Dwelling House Development of Shanghai, will be constructed in accordance with the blueprint requirements for outer ring greenbelts.
At present, residential district afforestation of Shanghai account for more than 1/3 of the overall afforestation construction in Shanghai. The construction of dwelling house woods is launched by means of money contribution throughout the dwelling house construction management system of dwelling house development administration on municipal and district level.
It is reported that "Instructions and Guidance on Afforestation Construction of Newly Built Dwelling House Environment of Shanghai" is to be further applied and promoted in the construction practice, and enclosing walls greenery work is to be implemented, thus continuously upgrading the afforestation level of residential districts.
