The project of Ever Bright City Greenbelt is an open public afforestation space constructed to meet the needs of urban construction development of Shanghai, accelerate afforestation construction of downtown area, improve the ecological environment of Ever Bright City, change the current situation of lack of large scale public greenbelt at the region of Ever Bright City, upgrade the image of Shanghai and to provide a better place of recreation and rest for citizens.
The greenbelt begins from Tianmu Road in the north, faceing South and North Elevated highways in the east, reacheing the planned Qufu Road and is close to Huakang Road in the west. Covering an area of about 37176 square meters, the greenbelt is to be constructed in two phases. The first phase of the project is from south of West Tianmu Road, the north of Gonghe Road and reaches the east of Huakang Road, covering an area of 15430 square meters. And the second phase of the project is from the north of Qufu Road, the south of Mid Tianmu Road and reaches the west of South and North Elevated Highway, covering an area of 21746 square meters.
The greenbelt construction aims at perfecting the city function, beautifying environment, and restoring ecological balance of the city, improving ecological environment and urban landscape quality of the downtown area, thus increasing rest and relaxation places for citizens and tourists, and establishing an ecological city with beautiful surroundings, agreeable landscape with characteristics and tastes in culture. With the ecological theories as the guideline, the design of the greenbelt implements the strategy of sustainable development, abides by the principle of "human-centered, green focusing, respecting nature and stressing on characteristics", so as to bring into shape an open public afforestation space.
Planned total investment for the project is RMB 320 million , which is a project started in the year of 2002 and completed in the same year.
