The entertainment world reacted quickly after the disaster.

Many celebrities quickly made donations and some even traveled to Sichuan Province to help. Local channel Dragon TV has rearranged its weekend schedule and plans to launch three major event programs to support the rescue work.

On Thursday night, it finished recording a charity performance with 100 celebrities in Beijing. The performers are stars from a variety of fields including classical music, pop music, film, TV and sport. The stars not only made their own donations but also asked the public to give more.

Meanwhile, Dragon TV has scheduled another charity concert program tomorrow with a strong line-up. They are currently talking with super stars including Jackie Chan and Jet Lee who have already both made large donations.
