Shanghai Party secretary Yu Zhengsheng and Mayor Han Zheng yesterday separately met Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, Secretary General of the Bureau of International Exhibitions.

Yu told Vicente Loscertales that preparations for Expo 2010 are going smoothly. Offices have been set up to undertake the specific tasks including security guard management, promotions, tourism and volunteers, he said.

Han said he appreciated the support offered by the Bureau of International Exhibitions during the preparations for the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. Local residents are taking an active part in a series of promotions and environmental drives, he said. Shanghai will take on a new look and attract participation from all over the world next year, he said.

Loscertales expressed his satisfaction with the preparations. He said the preparations were ever better than expected. He was confident that Expo 2010 would attract more participants and visitors.
