Linkin Park, the Grammy-award winning band, will honor its promise of a
return to Shanghai.
The band will perform at Shanghai Stadium on August
15, two years after its city debut and following the cancellation of its 2008
concert.
It is timely as the smash-hit movie "Transformers: Revenge of
the Fallen" has taken China by storm. The Linkin Park Shanghai gig will be
badged "New Divide," the theme from the movie that was composed by the
group.
Linkin Park is regarded as one of the best live rock bands in the
world.
Since its formation nine years ago, the group has won two Grammy
awards. Its three albums have been sold more than 50 million copies.
Last
year, the concert tour "Music For Relief" to help the victims suffering from
natural disasters and deal with the problems of global warming was cancelled
after lead singer Chester Bennington suffered a back injury and was under
medical orders to refrain from traveling.
Tickets for Shanghai are on
sale at Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.cn).
